pengaruh pengendalian penambahan asam klorida (HCl), kalsium hidroksida
ABSTRACT
Glycerin water produced from the bottom splitting column in section 1 still has a
fairly high oil content. So it is necessary to do a pretreatment process to reduce the
oil content it produces. The process can be done by controlling the chemicals in the
pretreatment section. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of
controlling the addition of hydrochloric acid (HCl), calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2,
and filter aid on the production of crude glycerin in the pretreatment section. The
pretreatment section uses chemicals namely HCl, Ca(OH)2, and filter aid. The three
materials were used to help the separation and filtration process of glycerin water.
In the process, HCl is added with a dose of HCI flow rate of 0,15% of 1.000 kg of
glycerin water or 13,8 kg/hour on 9.167 kg/hour glycerin water feed. Then for the
addition of Ca(OH)2, the dose was not determined, but seen from the results of
laboratory analysis of the pH of the glycerin water produced after being reacted
with HCl in the fat separator. Furthermore, the addition of filter aid at a dose of 2
kg of every 1.000 tons of glycerin water in the treatment vessel.
