    ABSTRAK
    Minyak kelapa sawit berasal dari tumbuhan kelapa sawit (Elais Guineensis
    Jacq), merupakan salah satu komoditas ekspor utama Indonesia dan memiliki peran
    penting dalam industri hilir. Termasuk di PT. Sari Dumai Sejati yang mengolah
    minyak sawit menjadi produk turunannya seperti glycerine dan fatty acid pada unit
    Oleochemical plant. Penelitian ini menganalisis performa evaporator dalam
    melakukan pemekatan Crude Glycerine dengan range 80% - 88%. Proses
    pemekatan dilakukan pada section 3 glycerine water evaporation dengan
    menggunakan evaporator berupa climbing film tipe multiple effect. Data penelitian
    diperoleh melalui observasi langsung di lokasi produksi, dengan menganalisis
    efisiensi pemekatan, suhu, dan kandungan glycerine. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
    menganalisa performa evaporator dengan menggunakan beberapa parameter untuk
    menghasilkan serta membandingkan nilai Q aktual dan nilai Q desain pada masing-
    masing effect nya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, evaporator masih dapat
    dikatakan layak dalam melakukan pemekatan crude glycerine dengan range 80% -
    88%. Sebab nilai efisiensi yang didapatkan cukup baik di tiap effect nya.

    ABSTRACT
    Palm oil originates from the oil palm plant (Elais Guineensis Jacq),
    constituting a significant primary export commodity for Indonesia and playing a
    pivotal role in downstream industries. This includes PT. Sari Dumai Sejati, which
    processes palm oil into its derivative products such as glycerine and fatty acids at
    the Oleochemical plant unit. This research examined the performance of an
    evaporator in concentrating Crude Glycerine within the range of 80% - 88%. The
    concentration process occurred in section 3 of glycerine water evaporation using a
    multiple-effect evaporator of the climbing film type. Research data was acquired
    through on-site direct observations, involving an analysis of concentration
    efficiency, temperature, and glycerine content. The objective of this study is to
    assess the evaporator's performance using various parameters to generate and
    compare the actual Q value with the designed Q value for each effect. Based on the
    outcomes of this study, the evaporator could still be considered proficient in
    concentrating crude glycerine within the 80% - 88% range. This was due to the
    satisfactory efficiency values obtained for each effect.
