EH4500-2 Hitachi”. Di bawah bimbingan Muhammad Taufik, S.T., M.Si
(Pembimbing 1) dan Abdul Halim, S.T., M.T., I.P.M. (Pembimbing 2). Judul ini
dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya melakukan pemeliharaan pada Euclid, salah satu
unit operasional milik PT. Kaltim Prima Coal, yang berperan penting dalam
melakukan proses penambangan.
Preventive Maintenance adalah jenis maintenance yang dilakukan untuk
mencegah terjadinya kerusakan pada mesin selama operasi berlangsung. Dengan
tujuan yaitu menjadikan kesiapan alat yang tinggi, mengembalikan performa alat
kekondisi prima, dan mengurangi biaya perawatan. Metode yang digunakan
adalah Studi Pustaka, Observasi Lapangan dan Wawancara secara langsung. Data
yang didapat berasal dari beberapa buku pendukung yang ada dan terkait dengan
proses pengerjaan tugas akhir ini.
Penulis melakukan kegiatan preventive maintenance pada sistem
pemasukan udara seperti mengganti air cleaner, melakukan air induction,
membersihkan saluran udara masuk serta sekitar komponen sistem pemasukan
udara. Hasil dari tugas akhir penulis ialah penulis dapat memahami prinsip
pemasukan udara serta mengaplikasikannya pada Engine MTU 16V4000 C21L
Euclid EH4500-2 Hitachi.

ABSTRACT
Adib Bagas Sanjaya, 20610040, Final Project Report 2023, "Preventive
Maintenance of Air Intake System on Hitachi MTU 16V4000 C21L Euclid
EH4500-2 Engine". Under the guidance of Muhammad Taufik, S.T., M.Si
(Advisor 1) and Abdul Halim, S.T., M.T., I.PM. (Advisor 2). This title is
motivated by the importance of performing maintenance on Euclid, one of the
operational units owned by PT Kaltim Prima Coal, which plays an important role
in carrying out the mining process.
Preventive Maintenance is a type of maintenance that is carried out to
prevent damage to the machine during operation. With the aim of making high
tool readiness, restoring tool performance to prime condition, and reducing
maintenance costs. The method used is Literature Study, Field Observation and
Direct Interview. The data obtained comes from several supporting books that
exist and are related to the process of working on this final project.
The author performs preventive maintenance activities on the air intake
system such as replacing the air cleaner, performing air induction, cleaning the air
inlet and around the components of the air intake system. The result of the
author's final project is that the author can understand the principle of air intake
and apply it to Engine MTU 16V4000 C21L Hitachi's Euclid EH4500-2.
