ABSTRAK
Gilang Rakasiwi Tandibeta, 2023, Analisa Kerusakan Komponen Cooling
System Engine 3304 Wheel Loader 950 Caterpillar. Tugas Akhir, Jurusan Teknik
Mesin, Program Studi Teknik Alat Berat, Politeknik Negeri Samarinda. Sistem
pendingin (cooling system) adalah suatu rangkaian untuk mengatasi terjadinya
overheating dan overcooling pada engine agar tetap bekerjasecara optimal.
Apa saja penyebab yang dapat menjadi faktor kerusakan komponen cooling
system sehingga tidak berfungsi sebagaimana mestinya dengan mengetahui
kerusakan terhadap water pump, thermostat, dan Radiator engine 3304 jika
mengalami kerusakan dengan cara melakukan visual inspection, pengetesan dan
pengukuran pada waterpump dan thermostat. Sebelum melakukan pekerjaan
persiapkan bahan, tools, literature, referensi dan safety untuk mempermudah
pekerjaan pengumpulan data.
Pada komponen water pump mengalami korosi serta diameter shaft
mengalami kehausan dan tidak dapat digunakan lagi, dan pada komponen
thermostat saat dilakukan pengetesan, thermostat masih dalam keadaan normal.
Dilakukan penggantian komponen yang baru pada komponen yang mengalami
kerusakan agar dapat digunakan kembali, perhatikan coolant yang digunakan untuk
memperpanjang umur komponen dan engine.

Engine Colling System Fault Analysis. Final Project, Department of Mechanical
Engineering, Heavy Equipment Engineering Study Program, Samarinda State
Polytechnic. The cooling system is a series to overcome overheating and
overcooling of the engine to keep it working optimally.
What are the causes that can be a factor in the damage to cooling system
components so that they do not function properly by knowing the damage to the
water pump, thermostat, and engine radiator 3304 if it is damaged by conducting
visual inspections, tests and measurements on the water pump and thermostat.
Before doing the work prepare materials, tools, literature, references and safety to
facilitate data collection work.
The water pump component is corroded and the shaft diameter is thirsty and
can no longerbe used, and in the thermostat component when tested, the thermostat
is still in normal condition. Replace new components on damaged components so
that they can be used again, pay attention to the coolant used to extend the life of
components and engines.
