Abstrak
Katapel saat ini merupakan salah satu cabang olahraga tradisional yang
berkembang di Indonesia seperti di kota Samarinda. Tas merupakan hal penting
dalam berpergian untuk mempermudah dalam membawa barang. Pengguna katapel
atau yang ikut dalam komunitas katapel tidak memiliki sarana bawa berupa tas yang
diperuntukkan untuk membawa katapel maupun peralatannya untuk beraktivitas
seperti latihan atau mengikuti kompetisi ketapel. Tas yang digunakan untuk
membawa katapel dan peralatannya masih menggunakan tas biasa seperti tas ransel,
selempang yang dijual di pasaran. Penggunaan tas tersebut tidak memberikan ruang
khusus untuk meletakkan katapel, peralatan pendukung dan secara visual tidak
memperlihatkan ciri khas komunitas. Maka solusi yang ditawarkan perancangan
produk berfokus pada desain sarana bawa yang memudahkan pengguna katapel
untuk menyimpan katapel serta memberikan ruang yang sesuai untuk peralatan
yang akan dibawa, meminimalisir kerusakan pada katapel dengan bahan yang aman
dan menggunakan motif Samarinda sebagai ciri khas dan daya tarik tas. Dalam
proses perancangan ini menggunakan metode vinod goel yang meliputi tahap
perancangan Preliminary Design, Design Development, Final Design and
Prototype. Kesimpulan hasil perancangan sarana bawa ialah aksentuasi rancangan
sebuah tas yang memperlihatkan ciri khas komunitas melalui pin logo, dan sarung
samarinda, sehingga tas menjadi sarana bawa mempermudah aktivitas komunitas
katapel Samarinda dalam membawa katapel, peralatan kebutuhan.

Abstract
Slingshot is currently one of the traditional sports that are developing in Indonesia,
such as in the city of Samarinda. Bags are an important thing in traveling to make
it easier to carry goods. Slingshot users or who participate in the slingshot
community do not have a means of carrying in the form of a bag intended to carry
a slingshot or its equipment for activities such as training or participating in
slingshot competitions. The bag used to carry the slingshot and its equipment still
uses ordinary bags such as backpacks, slings that are sold in the market. The use
of these bags does not provide a special space to put the slingshot, supporting
equipment and visually does not show the characteristics of the community. So the
solution offered by product design focuses on the design of carrying facilities that
make it easier for slingshot users to store the slingshot and provide suitable space
for the equipment to be carried, minimize damage to the slingshot with safe
materials and use the Samarinda motif as a characteristic and attractiveness of the
bag. In this design process using the vinod goel method which includes the design
stages of Preliminary Design, Design Development, Final Design and Prototype.
The conclusion of the design of the means of carrying is the accentuation of the
design of a bag that shows the characteristics of the community through a logo pin,
and a samarinda sarong, so that the bag becomes a means of carrying to facilitate
the activities of the Samarinda slingshot community in carrying a slingshot,
necessary equipment.
