    ABSTRACT
    Bamboo is one of the natural wealth in Indonesia.Bamboo leaf ash has 79.95%
    silica through burning for 2 hours where silica serves as a binder for concrete
    material. The purpose of this study is to determine the optimal characteristics of
    concrete with variations in the addition of bamboo leaf ash. The concrete is
    designed with concrete quality of fc'20 MPa with variations in the addition of
    bamboo leaf ash of 0%, 8%, 12%, and 16% of the cement mixture. Concrete
    compressive strength testing was carried out at the age of 7 and 28 days cylindrical
    shape measuring 10 cm x 20 cm and concrete bending strength testing was carried
    out at the age of 28 days in the form of blocks measuring 15 cm x 15 cm x 60 cm.
    From the test results, it was obtained that the optimal concrete was found in the
    variation of adding 8% bamboo leaf ash with compressive strength and bending
    strength of concrete of 11.51 MPa and 2.12 MPa.
