Caterpillar, dibawah bimbingan Ir. Abdul Muis, M.T. dan Dr. Eng. Hidayat, S.T.,
M.T., Laporan Tugas Akhir, Program Studi D-III Alat Berat, Jurusan Teknik Mesin,
Politeknik Negeri Samarinda.
Steering System adalah System yang berfungsi untuk membelokkan arah putaran
Mechine. Ada banyak jenis System Steering. System Steering pada mobil atau truck
kecil biasanya secara mechnical. Artinya adalah untuk menggerakkan Wheel depan
untuk fungsi Steering hanya menggunakan tenaga operator. Namun pada alat-alat
berat, tenaga yang dibutuhkan sudah besar, sehingga tidak bisa lagi digerakkan
secara langsung. Oleh karena itu, dibuatlah System Steering dengan bantuan
Hydraulic. Steering seperti ini disebut Power Steering.
Rekondisi Steering Cylinder Hydraulic dilakukan untuk mengembalikan
fungsinya sesuai spesifikasi atau mengembalikan wujud komponen hampir
mendekati barang baru. Karena bertujuan untuk menjelaskan secara singkat cara
kerja komponen – komponen Hydraulic System Wheel Loader 950 Caterpillar.
Berdasarkan Uji coba yang telah dilakukan dan dijabarkan di dalam laporan
ini,penulis dapat mengambil kesimpulan yaitu Rekondisi Steering Cylinder
Hydraulic dilakukan untuk mengembalikan fungsinya sesuai Specification,
Rechrome Rod Steering Cylinder Unit 950 Caterpilar, Melakukan perawatan
terhadap komponen agar tidak cepat rusak.

Steering System is a system that serves to deflect the direction of rotation of
the machine. There are many types of Steering Systems. Steering system on a small
car or truck is usually mechanical. This means that to drive the front Wheel for the
Steering function using only operator power. However, on heavy equipment, the
energy required is already large, so it can no longer be moved directly. Therefore,
a Steering System was made with the help of Hydraulic. Steering like this is called
Power Steering.
Reconditioning of the Steering Cylinder Hydraulic is carried out to restore
its function according to specifications or to restore the shape of the component
almost to a new item. Because it aims to briefly explain how the components of the
Caterpillar 950 Wheel Loader Hydraulic System work. Based on the trials that have
been carried out and described in this report, the authors can draw the following
