ABSTRACT

Flats function as a place to live for both the lower middle class and the general public who are not divided into social and economic strata. Flat development also needs to pay attention to the architectural aspects of the building such as the building environment, exterior, and interior, including aspects of the facade. The design of the facade of the building can be said to be very important because it shows the identity and concept of the building. Based on the survey results from two flats in the city of Samarinda, each flat has a facade shape such as modern and neo vernacular, yet no flat has a pop art facade. Therefore, the planning of the Rusunami is given an emphasis on the facade of the building in the style of the pop art architecture. The concept of pop art architecture in flats can give the impression of a flat which is initially simple to become more colorful and popular and increase the attractiveness of the flat
