ABSTRACK

Pencak silat in East Kalimantan, especially Samarinda, is one of the noble cultural heritages of the Indonesian nation, which is a traditional martial art that almost all Malay ethnic groups have. The planning of this Silat Athlete Dormitory aims to produce a dormitory design with a Malay architectural style and using the concept of spatial organization. The design method used is by collecting primary and secondary data, then transforming the design to produce analysis and design concepts. Malay architecture applied to building facades and methods of linear and converging space organization. Buildings with the Malay concept have ornaments and decorations in various forms, in addition to the decorative variety, Malay architectural buildings have other characteristics such as the shape of the roof, the shape of the stairs, and the color of the building. The planning of this Silat Athlete's Dormitory in addition to using Malay Architecture also uses the concept of linear Space Organization to facilitate circulation and classification between public spaces, transitions, and privacy. In addition, using a centralized space organization is intended to respond to individual needs in reaching the intended room. The grouping of rooms in the Silat Athlete Dormitory building in Samarinda with the ground floor having communal rooms, management rooms, as well as bedrooms for trainers and deputy trainers. Meanwhile, the athletes' bedrooms are located on the first and second floors with the position to the right of the female athlete's dormitory and the male athlete's dormitory to the left.
