ABSTRACT
Chess is a a game by two people equipped with 16 black and 16 white pieces, each
consisting of 8 pieces (pawns), 2 rooks, 2 elephants (ministers), 2 horses, 1 empress or
queen, and 1 king. Along with the times, chess has not changed much. The materials
commonly used in making chess sets are plastic and wood. The design of the common
chess form in the community also has a monotonous design and it is rare to find chess
that has its own unique impression so that it has a higher value than other ordinary
chess. Therefore, a chess set design was created that has its own uniqueness, both from
its design and from the use of different types of materials from other chess. The
material used in the chess set design is a combination of pallet wood waste, branch,
and resin. the design method used in the design method according to Vinod Goel, which
begins with problem formulation, literature review, analysis and design specifications.
This product is made as a type of chess that is unique in its shape and in the use of
different materials from other types of chess.
