DESAIN TAS DENGAN PEMANFAATAN KANTONG PLASTIK BEKAS YANG DIKOMBINASIKAN DENGAN KAIN TENUN ULAP DOYO --

ABSTRACT
This bag is a sling bag that is specially designed for teenage girls and uses a
combination of used plastic with ethnic Doyo woven ethnic materials, typical of East
Kalimantan. Additional innovations in bags in the form of ethnic-cultural concepts will
add to its own charm among teenage girls, which of course can advance regional
cultural handicraft commodities. The lack of processing of Ulap Doyo on teenage girls'
fashion products makes Ulap Doyo less well known, especially in East Kalimantan,
therefore a special sling bag for teenage girls was designed with a combination of used
plastic materials and Ulap doyo with a dragon motif which is not only a means of
carrying but also can display aesthetic value from a combination of used materials with
local culture when worn. This research was carried out through the literature stage
obtained from internet sources and book references for field data in the form of
questionnaires and also through existing processes, alternative designs, module
making, and prototyping. In this bag design, Ulap Doyo will be an aesthetic element
that is combined with used plastic bags by sewing. Through this stage of the design
process, a combination of used plastic bags and Doyo Ulap Weaving can be produced.
