DESAIN WEDGES RAJUT DENGAN KOMBINASI ULAP DOYO --

ABSTRACT
Wedges are a model of shoes or sandals designed for women which when used give a
comfortable effect, not easily tired / sore. Different from other high shoes because
wedges have the shape of the heel that is attached to the base of the shoe, making the
body support evenly on the sole of the foot. Wedges can be made of various materials,
one of which is knitted. However, with the rise of shapes and styles of high shoes that
occur in Indonesia, of course, little by little will fade Indonesian culture which has an
abundant cultural heritage. Therefore, the purpose of this design is to design wedges by
bringing local wisdom from East Kalimantan, namely Ulap Doyo. Ulap Doyo is a
typical East Kalimantan woven fabric made from Doyo leaf fiber. The design method
used is the Vinod Ghoel method, namely collecting data, analyzing data, determining
design concepts, making alternative designs, developing alternative designs, to the final
design. So that the result of the "Design of Wedges Knitting Ulap Doyo", users can get
to know local wisdom that already exists, through the design of wedges made of knitted
material that is more ergonomic, and aesthetically has a traditional nuance but still
looks modern. Prioritizing comfort for women who want to wear high shoes everyday.
