    ABSTRACT

    In Indonesia, boots are a type of shoe that is widely used by young people in various activities they do. Traveling to invited events, to campus, relaxing at the mall, hanging out with friends and more. This makes boots a part of today's lifestyle. However, with the rise of boots in Indonesia, of course, it will gradually eliminate Indonesian culture that exists among young people. Even though Indonesia has an abundant cultural heritage, one of which is the Ulap Doyo Weaving Fabric. Ulap Doyo is a traditional woven cloth typical of East Kalimantan made from the leaves of the doyo tree, a plant that grows a lot in the interior of Kalimantan. The design method used is the Vinod Ghoel method, namely data collection, data analysis, determining design concepts, making alternative designs, developing alternative designs, and finalizing designs. Because there are still many teenagers who do not know that Ulap Doyo is a typical cloth of the East Kalimantan region, especially the Dayak Benuaq community which has unique and environmentally friendly values, a shoe product was designed, namely Ulap Doyo Boots as a support for aesthetic footwear using traditional cloth materials. Ulap Doyo as a means and media to preserve and introduce local wisdom from East Kalimantan to Indonesian youth. The ulap doyo motif applied to the ulap doyo boots is the Tungkulutn Naga motif has the meaning of a dowry for nobles and kings.
