PEMANFAATAN LIMBAH TEMPURUNG KELAPA dan LIMBAH KAYU PALET UNTUK PERANCANGAN CASING PRODUK JAM TANGAN --

ABSTRACT
Waste is residual material produced from an activity and production process, both at
household, industrial, mining and so on. Waste can be turned into useful goods if
treated properly. One of them is coconut shell waste and pallet wood waste. As a
country located in the tropics, Indonesia is one of the largest coconut producers in the
world. Annual production of coconuts is 15.5 billion grains. Pallet wood waste is
packaging woodmade of several kinds of raw materials, both pure wood which is often
known as hard wood, plywood or multiplex and MDF (materialmelamine). Both of
these wastes can be re-managed into products that are more valuable and have selling
power, namely by processing them into bun accessories. One of them is a watch made
from coconut shell waste and pallet wood waste. So a watch whose material comes
from coconut shell waste and pallet wood waste and applies regional motifs on the
strap can be a high-value product. In this design process using the Vinod Ghoel model
method which includes problem formulation, literature review, data analysis, design
analysis, development of alternative designs and the final design which includes
technical drawings, 3D modeling, prototypes, portfolios and posters. This design will
produce a product in the form of a watch from coconut shell waste and pallet wood
waste by displaying the aesthetic value on the dial watchso that it has a high selling
value.
