ALGORITMA DECISION TREE SEBAGAI PENENTU JURUSAN SISWA SMA NEGERI 2 BONTANG --

Abstract
Majoring is one of the important factors as determining future of the students. Commonly happens that students who get a major that does not match their will, this factor can affect the interest on learning and development of those students. With the growth of technology at this time, data mining classification method are very helpful for classification with large amounts of data, for this reason researchers conducted the classification of SMAN 2 Bontang based on several categories including raport and National Exam average values, majoring test scores, final grades, and student major interests using C4.5 and ID3 algorithms. With two classes of results category Science and Social. Researchers used 192 data derived from SMAN 2 Bontang, by comparing the two Decision Tree methods are expected to be able to make decision trees, as well as provide information on how much accuracy the data is. Tested 5 times for both algorithms it was known that both algorithms have the same highest accuracy rate but Algortima ID3 has an average accuracy value higher from 5 times the test then obtained Algortima ID3 has a better result with Twenty-nine rules or rules and an accuracy result of 95%.
