PENERAPAN METODE K-MEANS CLUSTERING UNTUK PENENTUAN PENGURANGAN BIAYA UKT PADA MAHASISWA JURUSAN TEKNOLOGI INFORMASI --

ABSTRACT
Samarinda State Polytechnic (POLNES) is one of the Vocational Higher Education
in Samarinda City. Samarinda State Polytechnic has several departments
including: Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering,
Tourism, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Accounting, Design,
Information Technology, Maritime. One of the causes in this study is that later this
grouping data can be used to reduce UKT costs so that a system is needed that can
classify groups of students who do not have the potential, potential, very potential
to get a UKT reduction on the POLNES campus based on the income of parents,
dependents parents, UKT and Semester. The Information Technology Department
is one of the majors that has active students. With so many students there. The
research that will be applied is one of the technological knowledge in the field of
data mining by applying the K-MEANS algorithm to determine the grouping of
students who get a UKT reduction. The expected result of this research is to apply
the K-MEANS Clustering method to data mining for grouping student data to
reduce UKT.
