Operation of Centrifugal Pump Drive Motor using Soft Starting at PT. SARANA ABADI
LESTARI
Abstract, One of the main components supporting fuel distribution is a three-phase
induction motor which is used to drive the centrifugal pump located at PT. SARANA
ABADI LESTARI, but the induction motor has a relatively large starting current which
can result in a decrease in system voltage and disrupt the work system of other
equipment, so it requires a method to overcome the large starting current and one way to
overcome this can use soft starting. A three-phase induction motor that works using a
frequency of 48 Hz as the driving force of the centrifugal pump at the refueling terminal
is proven to be able to reduce the rotational speed of the motor according to the needs of
the company and can save the use of electrical energy by 14.47%. and with the use can
also save the cost of electrical energy of Rp. 311,993,349 in operating time for 14 days.
