    ABSTRACT
    Muhammad Junaidi 2021, Manufacturing and Testing the 2018 I-Vtec Sohc
    Honda Hr-V Technology Simulator under the guidance of Mr. Samen Lolongan,
    ST., MT. Final Project Report, D3 Machine Maintenance And Repair, Mechanical
    Engineering.
    This research focuses on how i-vtec works, which is fairly simple, at low
    speed, one valve opens and the other valve opens only slightly. This method is to
    support the effect of air circulation in the combustion chamber to be more optimal
    so that the engine acceleration feels responsive and feels more powerful. In
    carrying out this research, the authors made preparations for the smooth process
    of data collection first. The research method used is the direct research method
    where the research directly takes data on the visual aids by measuring the valve
    gap opening when the VTEC is active and inactive and knowing how the VTEC
    system works. . The result of the average value of the most effective valve gap
    opening is obtained from the calculation of the valve gap opening in the cylinder
    head using a vernier caliper, which is 0.15 mm and the exhaust valve is set at 0.25
    mm so as to produce a primary intake valve gap opening of 09.70 mm. ,
    secondary intake valve 09.50 mm, and exhaust valve 10.40 mm, meanwhile the
    highest valve opening when I-Vtec is active is 12.10 mm when the valve gap in
    the Honda H-RV cylinder head is set to 0. ,5 mm. The results of testing the
    workings of the I-Vtec piston by pressing the I-Vtec piston with air pressure
    supplied by the compressor through the in hole gap in the Honda HR-V cylinder
    head so that the I-Vtec piston which was originally on the primary rocker arm
    locks the secondary rocker arm. so that the primary and secondary valve gaps are
    fully open at this time the I-Vtec has been activated and when the air pressure is
    released the I-Vtec piston will move back pushed by the return spring and the IVtec piston will return to its initial position, namely in the primary rocker arm. .
