    ABSTRACT
    A floating crane is a barge that has a crane on it to carry out offshore transport operations which is used to lift cargo vertically, hold it if necessary, and lower the load to another place determined by the mechanism of the jack (luffing), slewing, pedestrian ( traveling). For this type of crane can facilitate human work by
    helping to move heavy loads and in large quantities, which are above sea level. Generally used as a distributor of materials from barges then proceed with processing and put in the mother vessel. The loading and unloading process carried out by PT Diven Laju Harmoni uses a floating crane with a conveyor at the mouth of the Berau anchorage. The formulation of the problem in this study is what are the factors causing the difference in loading and unloading time using a floating crane with a conveyor. The method in this research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the loading and unloading speed of the conveyor is relatively faster than the floating crane because the conveyor has a double crane and has a series of tools used to move bulk cargo from the barge to the stockpile shelter to the ship.
