    Abstrak
    In the period of development and progress, scientists always think of making equipment that is useful for the community, nowadays there are still many plate cutters that are still done manually. This results in the performance of the plasma cutting machine when cutting is not maximized and the movement of the hand torch is relatively not constant because the machine is still operated manually (by hand). In this final project, a plasma cutting table design is made to optimize the performance of the plasma cutting machine during the plate cutting process. The optimized performance is the cutting speed of the workpiece and SOD (Stand-Off Distance) to the workpiece with a constant. So from the data obtained from the calculation of the largest torque and the largest power, a stepper motor with greater power and torque is determined, namely P = 15, 96 watts, Torque = 0.25Nm = 0.025 kg.m = 2.5 kg.cm, with a torque of 0.25 Nm can drive a maximum load of 6.4 kg. P = V x I = 12 x 1.33 = 15.96 watts. The stepper motor was chosen because the price is relatively cheap.
