RANCANG BANGUN MESIN PEMINTAL SERAT DAUN DOYO --

ABSTRACT
The doyo leaf fiber craft industry has existed and developed in several regions in Indonesia. Doyo leaf fiber produces various kinds of handicraft products with high economic value such as; bags, hats, furniture, noken and many other craft products. The problem faced by the handicraft industry using doyo leaf fiber is that the production process is carried out manually with limitations on production capacity and the instability of product quality as raw material for doyo leaf fiber. The purpose of this research is to make a prototype of a spinning machine from doyo leaf fiber which can shorten the process steps and increase production capacity. The method used is data collection through literature and field surveys, design design, preparation of materials and tools, machine manufacture, trials with variable rotation speed and doyo leaf fiber, analysis and discussion of test results. This research resulted in one unit of spinning machine with specifications of length: 130 cm, width: 46 cm, height: 115 cm, 1 phase electric motor drive, 220 volts, 1 HP, 1400 rpm. This machine has a maximum capacity at 750 rpm rotation, agel length of 100 cm, which is 3000 cm / hour. This machine is able to increase the capacity by 59.67% compared to manual spinning.
