    ABSTRACT
    Tofu is one of the processed soybean products that has a fairly broad market segment. This is evidenced by the existence of various types of tofu sold in the market such as sumedang tofu, tofu content, and tofu pergedel. Entrepreneurs who make tofu in Selili output on average still use manual tools, spend a lot of energy, and high production costs so that the process of making tofu takes a long time in the process of filtering and pressing tofu, so the author wants to make a prototype tool for filtering and pressing soybean porridge become tofu so that it is more effective, hygienic and does not reduce industrial production costs. The purpose of this study was to determine the working principle of semi-automatic based tools. Counting on electric motors, determining the basic calculations for pulleys, v-belts (belts), shafts, bearing life and the force on the crank arm. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method with the type of case-study. The results of the research on the prototype machine for filtering and pressing soybean porridge into tofu with a minimum capacity of 10 Kg per process that has been made, the calculation of the output rotation on the electric motor and reducer is 68.5 rpm with the force on the crank arm is 52.13 Kg.
