    ABSTRACT
    Samarinda woven sarong industry produces liquid waste from yarn dyeing residue, with a liquid waste color concentration of 2168 Pt.Co. This concentration has potential to pollute the environment, so it is necessary to decolorize so that concentration can meet the waste color quality standard of 50 Pt.Co. Decolorization using activated blood clam shells as adsorbent. This research was conducted to determine the effects of adsorbent mass and stirring speed in reducing the color concentration of wastewater from the Samarinda woven sarong industry. Variables used were mass of the adsorbent (0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5 g) and the stirring speed (120, 150, 200 rpm). The sample was put into an Erlenmeyer as much as 50 mL, added an activated adsorbent with size of 200 mesh, then stirred with a shaker for 30 minutes. The sample was filtered with Whattman-42 filter paper and then the final color concentration of the sample was analyzed after the adsorption process using the SNI 06-6989.24-2005 analysis method. The results showed that the optimum condition for color adsorption of the liquid waste of the Samarinda woven sarong industry was the adsorbent mass of 0.5 g, and stirring speed of 150 rpm, with a final color concentration of 33.14 Pt.Co or % removal of 98.47%.
