ABSTRACT

Plastic waste has become one of the main problems in environmental pollution, both land and sea pollution. The use of plastic products that are not environmentally friendly can cause various serious environmental problems. We have to think about how to process it into something useful, one of which is to turn it into alternative fuels. The aim of this research is how to overcome these problems by making a chopper and a pyrolysis tool for plastic waste as the basic material for fuel oil, and being able to know the performance of the plastic pyrolysis tool. The test is carried out by making a plastic waste processing device consisting of 12 main parts, namely: a plastic chopper unit, a driving motor, a frame, a semar stove, a reactor tube, a thermostat, a safety valve, a steam line, a condenser, a water pump, a measuring cup, and a container. water reservoir. The results obtained in testing this pyrolysis tool are that 5 kg of PET plastic waste produces 220 - 250 ml of basic fuel oil at a temperature of 150-2500C with the time required for 2-3 hours.
