The differential relay is the main protection system on the transformer whose job it is to protect the transformer from interference or from outside or from inside. The differential relay is in charge of protecting the transformer when the nominal difference in current flows on the high voltage side and the low voltage side and works without time delay. In this research, which has been carried out at the New Samarinda Substation, when doing calculations with theory, the differential relay setting slope 1 at a voltage of 150 KV is 1,853% and at a voltage of 22 KV is 3,707 %.
