ABSTRACT

Pelayaran Duta Lintas Samudera Samarinda (Under the guidance of Miss. Satryawati S.E, M.Si and Miss. Kristin Wulansari S.E, M.M).
The purpose of this study was to determine the layout of the office in the purchasing department of PT. Pelayaran Duta Lintas Samudera and to find out the office layout in the purchasing department has facilitated the flow of work in accordance with the principles of office layout according to Richard Muther or not. Office layout is the arrangement of rooms and the arrangement of office furniture tools according to the floor area and available office space to provide facilities for employees at the purchasing department of PT. Pelayaran Duta Lintas Samudera and smooth work are activities to do something that the way is not halting which will cause the implementation to be carried out properly and optimally because the most important factor in the layout of the office that determines its smoothness is the preparation of the workplace and office equipment as well as possible. , because office layout is a very important consideration for all employees.
Data collection techniques used by the author of interviews, observation, and Documentation. The data has been collected and analyzed to draw conclusions in general. Based on the results of this study it is stated that the layout of the office in facilitating the workflow of employees at PT. Pelayaran Duta Lintas Samudera is still not good and needs to be rearranged according to the existing office layout principles.
