    ABSTRACT
    Meidina Febriyanti, 18622046, Factors that motivate training participants at the Samarinda Cooperation Training Center in choosing majors, Advisor I Johan Lukas Away, SE., M.Si, Advisor II Drs. Muhtar Sehe, SE., M.Si. This study discusses the factors that motivate trainees at BLK Samarinda in the vocational field in choosing their careers. The research methodology used is a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews and observation as well as documentation studies. The results showed that the first factor that motivated participants to participate in the training at BLK Samarinda was 86% or 26 people expressed motivation that came from within (internal) and 14% or as many as 4 people expressed motivation that came from outside (external) and the second factor that motivates participants in choosing a vocational education in terms of needs theory is 83 percent, psychoanalytic theory is 20% or 6 people with an unconscious component, there are 23% or 7 people with an ego component, and 46% or as many as 14 people with a super component. ego, achievement motivation theory as many as 27 people, and hope theory as many as 27 people. Suggestions for BLK Samarinda are to find out what motivates the training participants in participating in the training so that BLK Samarinda is wiser in educating and selecting the right majors for participants. The lack of training facilities at the Samarinda Cooperation Training Center is an obstacle in carrying out the training so that it hampers the training process at the Samarinda Cooperation Training Center, for that in the future it is hoped that the Samarinda Cooperation Training Center will add equipment facilities that are still not available or complete in order to facilitate the training process. And also the trainees should be wiser in choosing majors at BLK Samarinda by looking more closely at the potential that exists within them and so that the motivation that is born in them is purely for their development not only for looking for work but also for social activities in the community.
