Penempatan sistem tata ruang pada setiap kantor merupakan salah satu hal yang
mendukung berbagai macam kegiatan kantor. Memiliki sistem tata ruang kantor
yang baik tentunya memberikan kenyamanan bagi para karyawan. Adapun tujuan
dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tata ruang kantor yang diterapkan
pada Koperasi Tenaga Kerja Bongkar Muat (Komura) Samarinda. Metode
penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian deskriptif. Alat analisisnya
adalah asas - asas tata ruang menurut Richard Muther. Hasil dari penelitian ini
menunjukkan bahwa tata ruang kantor pada Koperasi Tenaga Kerja Bongkar Muat
(Komura) Samarinda masih belum sepenuhnya menerapkan tata ruang kantor
yang baik berdasarkan teori dikarenakan karyawan yang pekerjaannya saling
berhubungan dengan karyawan lain tidak ditempatkan berdekatan sehingga terjadi
arus bolak-balik dilihat dari ini proses pelaksanaan kerjanya belum menempuh
jarak sependek mungkin berdasarkan asas jarak pendek. Selain itu penggunaan
ruangan masih kurang baik sehingga terlihat pemborosan ruangan. Oleh karena itu
perlu adanya penataan kembali tata ruang kantor agar kinerja para pegawai dapat
efektif dan efesien.

Placement of the spatial system in each office is one thing that supports a variety
of office activities. Having a good office layout system certainly provides
convenience for employees. The purpose of this study is to determine the office
layout that is applied to the Manpower Unloading Cooperative (Komura)
Samarinda. The research method used is descriptive research method. The
analysis tool is the principles of spatial planning according to Richard Muther.
The results of this study indicate that the office layout at the Samarinda
Unloading Workers Cooperative (Komura) is still not fully implementing a good
office layout based on theory because employees whose jobs are interconnected
with other employees are not placed close together so that alternating currents
are seen from this process of implementing the work has not covered the shortest
distance possible based on the principle of short distances. In addition, the use of
the room is still not good so it looks a waste of space. Therefore it is necessary to
reorganize the office layout so that the performance of the employees can be
effective and efficient.
