Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membahas bagaimana proses pembukuan registrasi kapal LNG. Ekaputra I pada saat penerbitan surat persetujuan berlayar di Kantor Unit Penyelenggara Pelabuhan Kelas I Tanjung Laut. Metode pengambilan data yang digunakan dengan cara peninjauan langsung terhadap proses pengisian data objek yang diteliti, dan data informasi dikumpulkan melalui observasi, mengadakan pengamatan secara langsung dalam proses peregistrasian data kapal Pada saat melaksanakan praktek di Kantor Unit Penyelenggara Pelabuhan Kelas I Tanjung Laut. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa sertifikat kapal beserta dokumen lainnya sangatlah penting dalam menunjang kelancaran peregistrasian kapal.
Saran penulis kepada pihak perusahaan untuk bisa melakukan penegasan aturan kepada pihak agen atau perusahaan pelayaran terkait kelengkapan sertifikat serta dokumen yang di ajukan.
